Career to date
I graduated from Leeds Polytechnic as a Printmaker in 1992. Since
then I have worked as a graphic designer, lecturer, photographer
and artist. In 1998 I was awarded an MA in Printmaking from
the University of Wolverhampton.
After eight years of teaching in a variety
of institutions I returned to full-time creative practice in
January 2003. My last teaching post was at Loughborough University
where I’d
been an Associate Lecturer for over four years.
My time is now spent working on public art projects,
my personal work and various photographic commissions. Illustrations
of this work can be found in the case studies detailed on this
web site.

Examples of successful work include:
The Bridgenorth Public Art Project; design of 26 metre
long metal sculpture, inlaid into a hard landscaped public space,
as a gateway between the historic old market town and a new retail
development. Project completion due in 2005.
Hartshill Park and Local Nature Reserve;
creative consultation project to design appropriate art features
and interpretation for the Local Nature Reserve’s ongoing
work.
Desire to advance knowledge and creativity

Organisational skills in business management,
educational administration and course development
Eight years
of lecturing experience, with four of those at Loughborough
University.
Written degree modules as well as designing entire courses in
subjects such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXpress, Dreamweaver
and Commercial Design Skills Training.
Organisational skills play a key part in structuring administrative
tasks for professional practice.
Ongoing dialogue with clients and effective record keeping form
the foundation of project management skills.
Technical facility in both photography and
graphics software
Extensive knowledge of digital imaging software
and systems used to develop personal work; design work for both
print and the web; and image restoration/manipulation.
Associated competences used to write and deliver effective software
