Jon
Braley
Jon graduated from the University of Derby - BA (Hons) in 1999. Jon
then went on to complete his Masters degree in European Fine Art at
Winchester School of Art 1999 - 2000. During his Masters Degree, Jon
spent 10 months studying in Barcelona and 2 months at Winchester School
of Art in Winchester.
Jon now lives and paints in Leek, Staffordshire. Jon has had a number
of successful exhibitions in the past 2 years. He has also worked for
the University of Derby, when he was assigned the task of studio tutor
and resident artist for a collaborative project between the University
of Derby and the Provincial Institute Limburg, Hassel, Belgium. He spent
a week working alongside students from both art schools, which culminated
in a group exhibition at Britannia Mill and Banks Mill, Derby. Jon has
also worked for Antony Gormley on a self-employed basis, overseeing
the quality of castings.
Jon is currently working on a collaborative touring project and a summer
exhibition for 2003.

Paul
Brooks
Having recently graduated with a B.A (Hons)
fine art degree in sculpture at the University of Wolverhampton I now
live and work in Leek where I am currently establishing my studio practice.
Reflecting on my time at Wolverhampton, which I “enjoyed immensely
because sculpture is a very broad based subject and the course was more
workshop biased,” I was able to instigate my own specific interpretations
within this subject, a process that I am constantly interrogating and
upgrading.
My work involves
the engagement of systems represented through volume, weight and structure
and re-establishing their form through a process of deconstruction.
