Set in an imposing former
silk mill - restored at a cost of £400,000 - Moorland Arts & Antique
Centre is a centre of excellence for some of the finer things in life.
With more than 300 sq.m. of gallery space, it has on show an impressive collection
of paintings, photography, sculpture, glass, jewellery, ceramics, turned wood
and contemporary furniture. But this is no sterile display space, the centre
is a place where artists, potters, furniture restorers can work, meet the
public and show their works. A full exhibition programme is organised through
the year.
A range of other attractions add to the day-long experience of a visit to
Cross Street Mill, including Anvil Antiques (reproduction fine antiques and
decorative art), Kiddies Kingdom (fun for the young), the Art Café
(bar restaurant), Jeanette Corbishley Dance Studio, and The Haven Ladies Health
& Fitness Club.
