Mark Wood graduated from Leeds Polytechnic's Graphic Design — Printmaking BA (hons) in 1992, Mark began trading as a freelance graphic designer with grant assistance from the Staffordshire Trading and Enterprise council and the Prince's Youth Business Trust.

By 1994 he was lecturing regularly, devising and delivering community education programmes in desktop publishing and other digital media. This was at Leek College of Further Education and School of Art. In January 1996 Mark was offered a full time lecturing post at Stoke-on-Trent College, working across HND and HNC Graphic Design, HND Media Studies and HND Photography. Whilst at Stoke Mark began to act as a consultant software trainer to the print and ceramic industry.

 

A two year part-time masters degree at the University of Wolverhampton was completed by Mark in September 1998, by which time he had joined the academic staff at Loughborough University School of Art & Design, teaching on the on the Graphic Communication BA (hons) course and engaging in research.

In December 2002 Mark resigned his post at Loughborough to pursue his arts practice.

Since summer 2000 Mark has taken part in several prestigious group and solo shows both in the United Kingdom and Imternationally. More details can be found in his curriculum vitae

Mark lives near the market town of Leek, in North Staffordshire, England.
